Children’s Relief Bethlehem welcomes The Most Reverend Peter Smith, Archbishop of Southwark as patron

The Archbishop of Southwark, The Most Reverend Peter Smith has become patron of Children’s Relief Bethlehem, which finances and manages the Caritas Baby Hospital in Bethlehem, Palestine.
Over the last 60 years in this region of conflict, dire poverty, drought and disease the hospital has never been closed, providing vital health care to any child in need of medical attention. The Archbishop will work closely with the charity that also supports other projects to provide sustainable solutions for people in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas.
Andreas Bachofner, Chairman of the UK charity, remarked: “We are honoured and delighted that the Archbishop has become our patron. By supporting us, he is a shining example in giving help to the youngest and most vulnerable, regardless of nationality or creed. We are committed to providing medical aid, social work, parenting advice and support. We also have a nursing college to educate and train local women. Children are the greatest victims of the conflict between Israel and Palestine.”
We rely on donations to continue this critical work and can only provide essential aid to save lives in the West Bank with the kindness and generosity of supporters.
