A seven minute documentary of the work of Children’s Relief Bethlehem with it’s hospital.

We are here

Children’s Relief Bethlehem is committed to the health and well-being of children and their families. Children’s Relief Bethlehem focuses on five key aspects:

  • Medical Aid: Child mortality in the Occupied Palestinian Territories is almost four times higher than in Europe. We believe every child should have access to medical care and the right to thrive.
  • Social work: Together with the families, the social workers look for sustainable solutions. They also support families at the hospital, where there are facilities for mothers to stay with their sick children, and home assistance that goes beyond medical health care.
  • School for Mothers: Provides courses for new mothers, which focus on baby care, hygiene and preventative health care.
  • Nursing College: In this society based on strong cultures, it is often difficult for women to learn a profession in addition to their role as mothers and housewives. Since 1970, the hospital has been training local women as nurses.
  • Project Work: Children’s Relief Bethlehem is not only active in Bethlehem. In the whole region and surrounding countries, it supports local initiatives and projects that focus on medical care, health care and education; for children, mothers and families. It will also respond were it can to unforeseen emergencies or disasters.
